The socio-economic benefits of the bridge cannot be over-emphasized, as it shortens travel time from South East Zone to North Central Zone by 2-4 hours.

Scope:

  • Two bridges, 1,835 m (20x85m+2×67.5m) and 220m (85m+2×67.5m) long over River Benue linking Loko (Nasarawa State) and Oweto (Benue State). Each of the bridges is a dual carriageway structure comprising two rectangular prestressed concrete box girder sections 25mm apart, supported by single piers. Bridges are 11.60 wide, including two traffic lanes and raised walkway in each direction.
  • 36 km of approach roads.
