The construction of the Ilesha Dam and Water Supply Scheme for the Federal Ministry of Water Resources.
ILESHA DAM AND WATER SUPPLY SCHEME
  • WEIR:

Length   –   150m

Height   –     2.75m

Width    –    10.9m

 

  • RETAINING WALLS:
  • The retaining walls are 7m high reinforced concrete on the left and right flanks of the weir and are meant to protect the riverbanks around the weir.

 

  • SEDIMENT REMOVAL TANK
  • A reinforced concrete structure with a floor area of 371.2m2 comprising of 14nos gates to control the flow at the sedimentation cells and entrance screen which opens through a distribution channel to four equal sedimentation cells. (???)

 

  • ELECTRO-MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT:
  • 3 Nos. 810KVA Generators,
  • Electrical/Synchronization panels.
  • Pump Panel and flow meter
  • 5 Nos. Vertical raw water pumps (1,100 m3/h; Head=60m each),
  • Steel/Fibre screens,
  • Walkway protective handrails, etc
  • GENERATOR HOUSE:
  • 1,800m2 yard with block work perimeter fence,
  • Generator bay for the 3 No. 810KVA generator sets,
  • Diesel Fuel dumps with a total capacity of 99,000liters,
  • The Generator building with 2 offices, a store, Electrical and pump panel room,
  • Reinforced concrete service cable duct from the panels, transformer to intake pumping station,
  • Security house
  • 22KM WATER CONVEYANCE PIPELINE:
  • 900mm Ø ductile iron pipe with construction of 4 concrete chambers for flow meter, washout, butterfly, and air valves to proposed water Treatment plant
  • ACCESS ROAD:
  • 7km asphalt concrete paved single carriageway linking Ilesha-Oshogbo Road to the entrance gate of sediment removal tank/pumping station.
